The year long Nyaya, Mimamsa and Vedanta course is an introductory pathway in understanding deeper concepts of the Vedic philosophies of Sanatana Dharma. Regardless of one's age, one must attend this course to strengthen our faith ,realization and understanding of the Brahman. Younger population will especially appreciate the critical and logical reasoning in these philosophies and will develop interest in learning further about them thus enriching their spiritual knowledge.
The structure of the course is designed in a very thoughtful manner- Karma Vicharam prior to performing Brahma Vicharam. Therefore, it is important to understand Nyaya/ Mimamsa before delving into Vedanta.
The reading materials need a special mention. Swami Ranganathan has taken great efforts to compile and translate the Sanskrit verses into readable Tamil and English without diluting the meaning. The learner will not have any language gaps in understanding the otherwise complex concepts.
In this day and age, we not only have to defend and protect Sanatana Dharma but also have the duty of understanding our Dharma ourselves and to lead a way of life that is mentioned in the Vedas. This course will definitely pave way for clear thinking , understand the purpose of life / creation and most importantly , have stronger faith in Paramatma and in bringing ourselves closer to Him.
Finally, a mention about the Guru. A simple Thank you will not suffice for the time and efforts that Swami Ranganathan has taken in the last one plus year to make these Sastrams approachable for common people like me. He has passed on the knowledge that he has obtained from his Gurus and explained in the simplest of terms for everyone to understand. I just completed listening to the last lecture on Vedanta. Ranganathan Swami has done a wonderful job to expose us to Nyaya, Mimansa and Vedanta. He is slow enough for anyone to understand the deep meaning in these Darshanas. The examples, sometimes the repetitions and the summary help ensuring that we have understood the tatwams in these great texts. I pray that he takes up other similar topics complementing his father Krishnan Swami in exposing the Srivaishnava community to the great wealth left by our purvacharyas.

Classes were very useful to what is what.

Nyaya and mimansa courses were very well explained. It is very intersting to understand the methodology of performing yagas and the methodology of understanding the Vedic statements. I very much look forward to attend the vedanta course and many more courses taught by velukkudi Ranganathan Swamy.

Why there are no lessons from April 16th. Vedhanta lesson 16. I just wanted to get it clarified whether I have not received or you have not posted. Normally you announce everything meticulously. Please grace your reply. Namaste.

I enrolled in Nyayam and Meemamsai on line class with trepidation, because of my very limited knowledge of Sanskrit language and feared that I would be out of depth with the classes. Sri Ranganathan Swami has allayed that anxiety by the methodical manner in which he teaches elucidating the fundamentals and unraveling the mystique and the sheer beauty of Sanskrit language along the way. I have been in awe of at the etymological contribution of Sanskrit to other languages, including Western languages. His classes invoke further fervor to look eagerly forward to next session to learn more.

The pedagogic tools provided are pragmatic. Sri. Ranganathan Swami provides opportunities to ask questions and clarify doubts. Tests are challenging; yet it helps to appraise our progress. They are not punitive Rubicon cul de sacs as they are offered for retake, providing opportunities to rectify, learn from our errors and eventually enhance our knowledge basis.

It is indeed great pleasure to now listen to Swamy's son, Sri Velukkudi Ranganathan Swami, who is so erudite and eloquent at this age, truly establishing the stamp of authority of Velukkudi Swami paramparai, and his explanations and dissertations are crystal clear and pedantic in this Nyaya Shastram class. He is not only Ubhaya Vedanta scholar but also equally scholarly in modern science and English language so his reach can be even much wider globally and benefit the whole world with his lectures and classes. I joined the course with self-doubt (Whether I will be able to understand these or Do i have the capability to grasp what's been taught) and that has disappeared now. The course has been defined in simple structure and the explanations given by the swami is also very detailed and easily understandable. Both the video and the PDF are really useful in understanding the subject and got me the sincerity/keenness which is required. Hope the remaining lessons to be like this only and also hope to gain the knowledge as per the course material and purpose.

For a totally uninitiated student, I find the introductory sessions very interesting. Ofcourse, I needed to revise atleast twice...and everytime I discovered a new learning. I pray Bhagwan Sri Krishna continue to Grace your efforts.

ஒரே ஒரு விஷயம்: கற்பிப்பவருக்கும் கற்பவர்களுக்கும் இடையே இருக்கும் இடைவெளி குறைந்தால் நன்றாக இருக்கும். வாரத்தில் இரண்டு நாட்கள் கேட்கிறோம். பிறகு தேவரீருக்கும் எங்களுக்கும் எந்தவிதத் தொடர்பும் இருப்பதில்லை. கேள்விகள் கேட்டால் பதில் தருகிறீர்கள். எனக்கு அப்படிக் கேள்விகள் கேட்பதற்கும் தெரியவில்லை. தேவரீர் ஒரு வாரம் பலர் கேட்ட கேள்விகளுக்கு பதிலும் சொன்னீர்கள். கேள்வி கேட்டவர்களுக்கு பதில் கிடைத்திருக்கும். என்னைப் போன்றவர்களுக்கு அதுவும் ஒரு வாரப் பாடம் என்ற அளவிலேயே இருந்தது.

அடியேன் இன்னும் இரண்டு வகுப்புகள் சேர்ந்திருக்கிறேன். இரண்டுமே ஆன்லைன் வகுப்புகள் தாம். இரண்டும் நேரலை வகுப்புகள்.

இவை எப்படி நடக்கின்றன என்று சிறிய உதாரணம் சொல்லுகிறேன். ஒரு வகுப்பு மதியம் 2 to 2.45 நடக்கிறது. Zoom இல் நடப்பதால் ஸ்வாமியை நாங்கள் பார்க்கலாம். அவரும் எங்களைப் பார்க்கலாம். இந்த வகுப்பிக்கென்று ஒரு வாட்ஸப் குழு இருக்கிறது. அந்தக் குழுவை ஒரு study group ஆக வைத்திருக்கிறோம். ஸ்வாமி சொல்லித் தந்ததை அன்றோ அல்லது அடுத்த நாளோ எங்களுக்குப் புரிந்த வகையில் எழுதி குழுவில் போடுவோம். மொத்தம் 3 குழுக்கள். ஒரு குழுவில் பகிரப் படுவதை மற்ற குழுக்களிலும் பகிர்ந்து கொள்ளுவோம். தினமும் எல்லோரையும் பார்ப்பதால் அது ஆன்லைன் வகுப்பு என்ற எண்ணமே தோன்றாது.

இன்னொரு வகுப்பு இரவு 7.30 to 8.30 வரை. இதில் யாரும் யாரையும் பார்க்க முடியாது. ஆனாலும் ஸ்வாமி விளக்கிக் கொண்டே வரும்போது (திவ்யப் பிரபந்த வகுப்பு இது) எங்களுக்குத் தெரிந்த தொடர்புடைய பாசுரங்களை மெசேஜ் ஆகப் போடுவோம். எல்லா மெசேஜ்களையும் ஸ்வாமி படிப்பார். ரொம்பவும் பாராட்டுவார். மிகவும் உற்சாகமாக இருக்கும். 12 வகுப்புகள் நடக்கும். 8 வது வகுப்பிலிருந்து quiz time என்று ஒன்று நடக்கும். இதுவரை நடந்த பாடங்களிலிருந்து கேள்விகள் கேட்பார் ஸ்வாமி. எங்களது சொந்த வாக்கியங்களில் பதில் எழுதுவோம். நாங்கள் ஸ்வாமி சொல்லித் தருவதை எத்தனை தூரம் புரிந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறோம் என்று எங்கள் பதில்களில் தெரிந்துவிடும். பதில்கள் திருப்திகரமாக இல்லையென்றால் மறுபடியும் விளக்குவார். சரியான பதில் கொடுத்துவிட்டால் ரொம்பவும் உற்சாகப் படுத்துவார்.

தயவு செய்து இது போல ஏதாவது செய்யுங்கள். ஒரு குழு ஏற்படுத்துங்கள். எங்களுக்குள் நாங்கள் புரியாததை விவாதித்துத் தெரிந்து கொள்ளுகிறோம். இப்போது எங்களுடன் யார் படிக்கிறார்கள் என்பதே தெரியவில்லை. ஏதோ தனிமையில் படிப்பது போல இருக்கிறது.

இந்த யோசனையை வேறு யாராவது கொடுத்திருக்கிறார்களா என்று தெரியவில்லை. அதேபோல வாட்ஸப் குழு இருக்கிறதா என்றும் தெரியவில்லை. இருந்தால் தெரிவியுங்கள்.

நிறைய பயன் பெற வேண்டும் என்ற உந்துதலின் பேரிலேயே இதை எழுதுகிறேன். தவறாக நினைக்க வேண்டாம். தவறு என்று தோன்றினால் மன்னித்து விடுங்கள்.

Swami's explanations and examples are very lucid and easy to understand and his matery on the contents is evident from the flow.
I have one humble request to make:

Recaps/ repetitions are good to reinforce the learning, but if they are too frequent, then the listener can tend to lose interest / attention. (It can even be taken to insult the intelligence of the learners).
If anyone wants to review, s/he can always go back and see again.
Hence, kindly provide the summary at the end, rather than summing up with every additional point.

Please do start courses targeting young children, we have to catch them young."Catch them young" is a phrase used in churches to bring and save children in Christianity.Christianity is dying in the west and they want to propogate the religion to the east aggressively.
Having a curriculum that would run simultaneously with the school year, separated gradewise, Ramayana for first and second grades, bhagavatham for third and fourth, Mahabharata for 5 and 6 and Bhagavad Gita for 7-10.I am sure there are lots of children in the US who will be interested doing it online.Children develop critical thinking skills from 7-10 grade and we should have everything covered by then.
I live in Dallas and can volunteer at any level.

Ch Swami brought clearly the Divine Order called Vedas; the steps Old seers had devised (vedanga) to learn ,who cannot just learn by listening( + uru) from a teacher the Vedas. recognizing the letter/ word , its meaning,pronunciation, the anga dealing with how to do a karma,were covered by Ch Swami.
